Bull in tarot
The bull or ox is strength put to work: the plough animal, patient and powerful. In Christian art the winged ox is the symbol of Saint Luke, and the bull is the zodiac sign Taurus, an earth sign. In the Waite-Smith deck it appears among the four living creatures in the corners of the Wheel of Fortune and the World, and bulls' heads are carved on the throne of the King of Pentacles. In readings it carries the earthy virtues of endurance, steadiness and material strength.

Wheel of Fortune: The four living creatures
An angel, an eagle, a bull and a lion sit on clouds in the corners, each with an open book. They are the creatures of Ezekiel's vision and Revelation, later the emblems of the four Evangelists, and are often linked to the fixed signs of the zodiac. They return on the World.
